India should use its relationship with Russia to stop Ukraine war : US

Ukrainian President Zelenskiy, Indian PRIME Minister Modi and Russian President Putin

Washington (US) – Referring to solid relationship between India and Russia, the US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller urged India to use this friendship with Russia to convince Russian President Putin to stop the Ukraine war. His statement came after Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit to Russian President Putin. Ukrainian President Zelensky had criticised Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Russia.

Miller added that India should respect UN resolutions and Ukraine’s territorial sovereignty.

Editorial Perspective

Instead of telling India to save Ukraine from war, the US should ask Ukraine not to join NATO. Russia does not want Ukraine to join NATO, since Ukraine rejected the diktat, the war began. India should tell the US to advise Ukraine to forego the thought of joining NATO and the war will end immediately.
