Mumbai – To show that the film ‘Maharaj’ is a film that tackles a major social issue and to spread the name of Junaid Khan, the elder son of Hindu-hating actor Aamir Khan, to the world; the OTT broadcasting company Netflix has received special support from India’s two neighbouring Islamic countries. This information has been circulated on the website of ‘Amar Ujala’. To bring the movie ‘Maharaj’ into the global ranking, Netflix has extensively promoted it on social media platforms in Pakistan and Bangladesh. The 14 countries where this film is most watched have a large Muslim population. This film, which has the highest viewership among 14 countries with a significant Muslim population, portrays a Hindu saint as the villain. Consequently, the film faced significant opposition from Hindu nationalists in India.
