Gaza, Middle East – On June 21, the Israeli Defense Forces conducted airstrikes on Rafah, a town in southern Gaza. Among the targets was a Palestinian refugee camp located in Al-Mawasi outside the city. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 25 people were killed and 50 others were injured in the reported attack. The Israeli Defense Forces have not confirmed their involvement. But has consistently maintained its stance that ‘terrorist activities are carried out from within civilian populations.’
Due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, millions of people have fled the area. On May 26, Israel launched an airstrike on the Rafah refugee camp, resulting in 45 deaths and over 200 injuries. Subsequently, critics of Israel used the hashtag ‘#AllEyesOnRafah’ to draw attention to the incident. It was also picked up by the liberals in India.
