Do Not Allow Namaz on Roads During Bakri Eid

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – Ahead of Bakri Eid on June 17, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all officials in a meeting to ensure that no prayers (Namaz) are conducted on the roads and that no banned animals are slaughtered anywhere in the state. He warned that strict action would be taken against those involved in the illegal slaughter of prohibited animals.

Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, the Imam of the Eidgah in Lakshmanpuri, has appealed to Muslims regarding the sacrifices during Bakri Eid, advising them not to share pictures of sacrificed animals on social media. He urged that the remains and other waste should be disposed of in public waste bins. Muslims are encouraged to perform Namaz only at designated Eidgah locations. The Islamic Center of India has also released a helpline number to answer any questions related to sacrifices during Bakri Eid.
