Ancient idols of Hindu Deities found in excavations at Bhojshala in Dhar (Madhya Pradesh)
Muslim party objects
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) – Excavation is underway on behalf of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at Bhojshala in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. On the 80thday of survey, idols of Shri Ganesh, Goddess Vagdevi, Goddess Parvati, Hanuman and other Deities were found under the stairs in a closed room. Also, around 79 antiquities have been found, including conch-wheels and sikharas of traditional shapes. This closed room was opened in the presence of both the parties. A petitioner from the ‘Hindu Front for Justice’ said, “Certification of Bhojshala is the biggest opportunity till date”. The Muslim party has raised objections, contending that all these idols and other objects were placed here at a later stage. (It will not be wrong to say that the Muslim party is making a fictitious claim as it is embarrassing for them to accept the truth. The truth will anyway come out in the Court – Editor).
1. The survey was started basis information obtained in the investigation by ‘GPR’ machine. After removing one floor, the survey team excavated the room and found the idols of Shri Ganesh, Goddess Vagdevi, Goddess Parvati, Mahishasurmardini and Hanuman under the soil. Some of these are one and a half feet tall, while others are two to two and a half feet tall.
2. Many ancient objects related to Hindu Dharma were found when the soil was removed from the Yadnyashala. Hindu party’s Gopal Sharma said that the remains found are authentic. Ashish Goyal, a member of the ‘Hindu Front for Justice’ and a petitioner, has claimed that this room in the Bhojshala was closed for years.
3. On behalf of the Muslim party, Abdul Samad said that according to the order of the High Court, this survey is being conducted completely confidentially. Along with soil removal, leveling work has also been done in the premises. He claimed that the remains found this time were kept later.
