Leakage in the first rain in Shri Vitthal-Rukmini temple in Pandharpur
Pandharpur (Maharashtra) – In Shri Vitthal-Rukmini temple, the work of preserving and conserving the temple goes on after spending 72 crore rupees. This work has been going on since 15th March and Padasparsha Darshan for devotees has been started since 2nd June. On the other hand, the temple started leaking at many places due to the overnight rain. Devotees who came for darshan found water in the main hall, Solkhambi, Bajirao Padsali and other places on the temple’s roof, walls and pillars. Because of this, devotees are raising questions about why the ongoing work on behalf of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the temple administration has not been done right ? Was the water resistance coat not given properly ?

Editorial Perspective
Due to this, the devotees feel that the conservation work of the temple is of poor quality. Action needs to be taken against the concerned individuals in the Archaeological Survey of India and temple administration. |
