Toronto (Canada) – Another incident has taken place in Canada, where in the name of freedom of expression, Canadian Government has let Khalistani elements perform anti-India activities. Khalistan supporters protested in Canada on the 40th anniversary of ‘Operation Blue Star’ conducted by the Indian Army on 6th June 1984, at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. On this occasion, a tableau glorifying the assassination of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was taken by Khalistan supporters to the Indian Consulate in the city of Vancouver. A photograph of Indira Gandhi’s dead body, shattered by bullets, was displayed in the tableau. Anti-India slogans were raised during the protest. Also, the national flags of India and Russia were burnt. A senior Indian official in the embassy said that a complaint would be registered in this matter.

Russia had supported India with a statement in May 2024, stating that the US had not provided any credible evidence that Indian nationals were involved in the plot to kill Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. That is why Khalistanis burnt the national flag of Russia.
