Karnataka Congress Govt bans Hindi film ‘Hamare Barah’
Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Hindi movie ‘Hamare Barah’ which depicts the pitiful condition of Muslim women, is banned by the Karnataka Government. Following complaints from various Muslim organisations, this decision has been taken. Prior to this decision by the Karnataka Government, Bombay High Court had also banned this movie, later, the ban was lifted.
According to the news agency ANI, under the section of Karnataka Cinema (Regulation) Act 1964, the Karnataka Government has banned the release of ‘Hamare Barah’ for two weeks or until further notice. The Government says that allowing the release of this movie will incite communal tension. The short promotional trailers of this movie have triggered complaints from several minority organisations and delegations. Considering their sentiments, this decision has been taken.
