India declares one-day State mourning on the demise of Raisi, the President of Iran
New Delhi –The President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi and Iran’s Foreign Minister died in a helicopter crash. Indian Government observed a one-day State mourning on 21st May. The Union Home Ministry has informed us that a decision to observe one day of mourning across India has been made. All the buildings in India had the Indian flag at half-mast. No official events were held.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash on 19th May. He was scheduled to inaugurate a dam along with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. On the way, his helicopter crashed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled his death.
India had friendly relations with Raisi. During his tenure, several agreements were signed between India and Iran. Only a few days ago, India and Iran had signed a very important agreement on Chabahar Port.
