Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan served notice by Madhya Pradesh High Court
Allegation of hurting Christian religious sentiments through her book titled ‘Kareena Kapoor Pregnancy Bible’
Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) – Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has been served a notice by the Madhya Pradesh High Court in response to a petition filed against her. Advocate Christopher Anthony, a resident of Jabalpur, filed this petition against Khan, alleging that her book ‘Kareena Kapoor Pregnancy Bible’ has hurt the religious sentiments of Christians. Through this petition, Khan has been asked to answer the charges against her. The High Court has also issued notices to Aditi Shah Bhimjiyani, Amazon India, Juggernaut Books, and others involved in the case, asking for their responses. The next hearing of this case is scheduled for 1st July.
The petition alleges that Khan published this book to share her experiences during pregnancy. By adding the word ‘Bible’ to the title, she has hurt the sentiments of Christians. The title of the book contains the word ‘Bible,’ which has caused anguish among followers of the Christian religion. The Bible is a sacred religious scripture of Christianity, and therefore its inclusion in the title has been seen as disrespectful. The Bible contains teachings and parables of God.
Editorial Perspective
It is noteworthy that when Hindu religious sentiments are hurt, Hindu advocates rarely go to the Court. |
