Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) – A girl, 20-year-old and resident of Azamgarh District, was gang- raped. In this case, a team of Sahajanwa Police Station and Crime Branch arrested Tahir Ali, a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar District. Tahir has been admitted to a local medical college after being shot in the right leg.

Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Srivastava said that the victim, who lives in Jiyanpur area of ​​Azamgarh, had left her house in a fit of anger on the morning of 2ndMay. While the family was searching for her, Tahir Ali met the girl on the way. Tahir brought the girl to Gorakhpur on the pretext of getting her a job. After drugging her at night, he and his friend took her to a nearby forest and gang-raped her. The next morning, the victim went to a nearby village and informed the people about the incident. In this case, the Police registered a case and started searching for the accused.

After realising that Tahir Ali was in the Sahajanwa area, the Police surrounded him. Tahir then opened fire on them and ran away. He was shot in the right leg in the retaliatory firing by the Police. Then the Police arrested him. Another rapist is being searched for.
