21 children rescued from illegal madarasa in Lucknow (UP)
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – 21 children were rescued from an illegal madarasa at Dubagga here. The victim children said, “Maulavi (Islamic religious leader) of madarasa would intellectually brainwash us. He would lure us of heaven. It was told that those who do bad deeds have to reborn as Hindus.” These children, aged between 7 and 15, who were released from the madarasa, are currently kept in the Government children’s home at Mohan Road. Earlier, Child Protection Commission and Uttar Pradesh Police had arrested five maulavis who were transporting 95 children from Ayodhya. According to a news agency, the total number of registered madarasas in Lucknow is 131, while 111 madarasas are running illegally.
Brainwashing of children is dangerous : Dr Suchita Chaturvedi, Child Rights Protection Commission
Member of State Child Rights Protection Commission Dr Suchita Chaturvedi said that the case of children being brainwashed is part of a bigger conspiracy. Children who cannot speak Hindi properly are saying ‘Punarjanm’ (rebirth). These children were being trained in Islam and were shown dreams of heaven. Dr Chaturvedi has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of the State in this regard. She has suggested setting up a committee to investigate illegal madarasas.
Rescued children are residents of Bihar
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Irfan and Afsan, residents of Darbhanga in Bihar, are running an illegal madarasa in Dubagga. This illegal madrassa was being run in a house in Dubagga. On getting information about this, the Police rescued 21 children from the madarasa on 1stMay 2024. After that, these children have been sent to a child protection home. All these children are said to be residents of Bihar.
