Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Fake Video Case
Guwahati (Assam) – Assam Police have apprehended Reetam Singh, a Congress leader and coordinator of the party’s office in Assam, for circulating a fabricated video depicting India’s Home Minister, Amit Shah. In addition to disseminating the fake video, Ritam Singh also made threats to incarcerate BJP leaders.
In a video shared by him on his ‘X’ account, Amit Shah was depicted falsely announcing the termination of reservation benefits for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes.
Following a complaint filed by Deepak Kumar Das at the Pan Bazar Police station, authorities registered a case against Ritam under Sections 153A, 171C, 505(1)(B) of the Indian Penal Code, and Section 66F of the Information Technology Act. Upon being informed about the complaint, Ritam Singh promptly deleted the video post.
