RSS supports reservations : H H Sarsanghchalak (Dr) Mohan Bhagwat
Hyderabad (Telangana) – “When I reached here, a video was circulated on social media platforms claiming that RSS is against reservations. It is, however, a blatantly false and misleading video. RSS has always supported all types of reservations as guaranteed and sanctioned under the Constitution. RSS thinks that reservation should continue as long as it is necessary for those who need it because they are provided for backwardness and lack of parity in society, in terms of their living and social standing”, stated H H Sarsanghchalak (Dr) Mohan Bhagwat regarding the row over reservations between BJP and Congress.

Last September, Sarsanghchalak Dr Bhagwat had said that the quotas should remain in place till discrimination is eliminated. Discrimination exists, although not seen apparently.
BJP’s ploy to abolish reservations : Rahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi said while criticising the BJP that the BJP wants to withdraw reservations for Dalits, backward classes and tribals. The Congress Party is, however, standing like a rock in the way of the BJP to protect the Constitution and reservations. No force can take away reservations of the deprived class till Congress exists.

Replying to Rahul Gandhi’s criticism, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Rahul Gandhi is misleading people by telling lies. BJP has been ruling this country for the last ten years. Both times, the BJP won with a majority. Had the BJP wanted, it would have abolished reservations long ago. PM Modi has promised the country not to bring any change in reservation policy till the BJP is ruling the country. I want to tell the people of this country that it is the Congress Party which has always attacked reservations of Dalit, backward class and tribal people. On coming to power in Karnataka, Congress has given 4% reservations to Muslims and reduced reservations of backward class. Similarly, it has given 5% reservation to Muslims in Telangana on gaining power. Till the BJP is in politics, reservations of scheduled castes, tribes and other backward classes will be maintained.”
